Cross Corsica from East to West – From Bastia to Ajaccio

The national 193 or T20 is the road connecting Bastia to Ajaccio via the center Corsica, Corte. It is this road that you will take to cross the island from North-East to South-West and vice versa.
25kms south of Bastia, turn right at the roundabout of Casamozza station, direction of Ponte Leccia./Calvi. In Ponte Leccia, there is a supermarket called “super U” if you need to buy supplies. At the roundabout continue in the direction of Corte.
Relaxing break at the Corte Citadel before going to the Restonica Gorges. For hikers, the start of Lake Melo and Capitelo is at the sheepfold of Grotelle. If there are not too many people, you can easily park your minivan in the parking lot.
When you keep going on your route, arrive at the Col de Vizzavona, you can cool off at the Cascade des Anglais (large parking lot).
Afterwards, the yaw descent is smooth in Ajaccio. Go enjoy the sunset on the “îles sanguinaires”😉
GOOD TIPS: Count 3-4 jours for the hikers. You are in the heart of the Regional Natural Park of Corsica, after your trips in the mountains, sleep in the campsites or local farms.
