The Asco Gorges and the Genoese Bridge
The Vallée de l’Asco is one of the wild jewels of the Isle of Beauty, nestling between Centre-Corse and Balagnein the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional. On the road leading to Haut-Asco, just past the small village of Asco, you can park at the end of a cul-de-sac that descends to the left of the road. This is the start of the hike to the Pont Génois, where you can take a dip in the magnificent natural pools. The hike is very easy to get to, taking around 15 minutes to reach the Pont Génois. Afterwards, it’s up to you to decide whether you want to stay and bathe under the bridge or hike a little further to discover other clear-water pools. You can also continue your walk between the mountains, past the bridge, on a path that follows the course of the Asco. There’s very little shade, and in summer it’s very hot, so we advise you to take plenty of water with you.
